What a game!!
The boys were not phased at all by playing a team from the A league and in fact, they dominated the game right from the start. Despite numerous shots at goal, the first time the ball landed in the back of the net, some 30 minutes into the game ,it was offside. However, the boys determination and team spirit paid off when a corner taken by Luke Hammond was headed in by Sachin Gurung. Just before the whistle Torquespeed had a shot on goal but a terrific save by Jack Curtis ensured the first half ended 1-0.
Just two minutes into the second half and another corner taken by Luke was knocked on to Sachin who volleyed it in. Twenty five minutes later and another great save by Jack denied Torquespeed a goal. Two minutes later and a defensive error by Torquespeed was pounced upon by Harvey who took the ball round the keeper and smashed it into the back of the net. It was not long before the ball was in the back of the net again following a fantastic volley by Luke. Torquespeed managed to score a few minutes later but Boadicea continued to lead the game right up to the final whistle.
Goal Scorers - Sachin Gurung (2), Harvey Williams, Luke Hammond
Not the best of weathers to play football with very high winds and bright sunshine.
The boys didn’t seem to show their normal hunger for winning this week despite taking an early lead just 7 minutes into the game with a goal by Luke Hammond. However, the initial lead was short-lived when Feering Falcons scored just 2 minutes later. Following a great run, Sachin Gurung’s shot at goal was knocked out by the keeper but swiftly followed in by Kristian Tyler-Creed. Feering Falcons came back once again with a goal to even the scores. A few minutes before half time, Kristian passed the ball to Luke Hammond who ran through and struck the ball passed the keeper.
In the second half, a cross by Harvey Williams was touched by Leroy Gobvu and then followed in by Sachin and some 30 minutes later Harvey scored Boadicea’s last goal of the game. Feering Falcons closed the gap with a goal just minutes before the final whistle.
Goal Scorers - Luke Hammond(2), Kritian Tyler-Creed, Sachin Gurung, Harvey Williams
Great determination and effort from all the boys right from the whistle.
Boadicea took an early lead with a goal from Harvey Williams just 6 minutes into the game. However, it was some 20 minutes before the next goal was scored when great a cross by Sachin Gurung was knocked into the back of the net by Leroy Gobvu. Two more goals were scored in quick succession, one by Sachin and the next by Harvey with a lovely chip over the goalkeeper.
The next goal came just 8 minutes in the second half when Sachin put the ball through to Harvey who calmly finished for his hat-trick. Despite the boys continuing to control the game, Little Oakley managed to score the last goal of the match.
After the game, proud manager, Warren Rayner, said it was every player’s best game of the season.

Colchester Open Cup Round 1
A very slow start to the game, the boys taking some 20 minutes to settle down after the festive break. Despite some valiant shots no goals were scored in the first half.
However, just two minutes into the second half and a terrific cross by Kristian Tyler-Creed was received by Sachin Gurung who tapped it into the back of the net. Boadicea were later awarded a free kick just outside the box which was taken by Luke Hammond who struck a powerful shot at goal but narrowly missed. Boadicea continued to dominate the game and maintained their lead right up to the final whistle.
Goal Scorer - Sachin Gurung
Whether it was the cold conditions or just excitement for Christmas, but the boys seemed to take a while to settle into the game.
However, despite Layer getting away with some foul tackles, Boadicea scored their first goal when a strike by Harvey was parried away by the keeper but tucked home by Kristian Tyler-Creed. Just six minutes later a corner kick taken by Luke Hammond was found by Captain Bradley Ingram who volleyed it home with his left foot.
Just 1 minute into the second half, a penalty awarded to Boadicea was saved by the keeper but then followed back in by Luke Hammond. The boys continued to dominate the game and it wasn't long before they scored again with a terrific strike by Sachin Gurung. Five minutes later and a corner taken by Luke was received by Harvey with a header but it was saved by the keeper but Leroy Gobvu followed it up and scored. The final goal of the game was via a volley by Sachin.
Goal Scorers - Kristian Tyler-Creed (1), Bradley Ingram (1), Luke Hammond (1), Leroy Gobvu (1), Sachin Gurung (2)
A very hard first half for Boadicea through no fault of their own!
Not to be put off, the boys all stood their ground and it was just 12 minutes into the game when they scored their first goal with a terrific strike by Harvey Williams straight over the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, Great Bradfords were unfairly awarded a penalty in the 26th minute resulting in them scoring an equaliser.
However, in the second half Boadicea proved why they are currently top of their league when they extended their lead with a goal from Leroy Gobvu which was closely followed just 2 minutes later by a great goal by Sachin Gurung. The game continued to be dominated by the boys but it was some 20 minutes later before their final goal was scored by Harvey. It looked very much like the game was going to finish 4 - 1 but just 4 minutes before the final whistle Great Bradfords scored.
Goal Scorers - Harvey Williams (2), Leroy Gobvu (1), Sachin Gurung (1)
Boadicea took an early lead with a goal from Harvey WIlliams. However, it wasn't long before Bentley scored an equaliser as the result of a defensive error. Despite the boys lack of normal team spirit they did manage to score another goal before the half time whistle followinjg a great touch by Liam Tawse to Harvey who then dribbled the ball down the field and into the back of the net.
Fortunately, following a team talk with the manager, the boys came out more focused for the second half. A good clearance by defender Jason Wright was picked up by Leroy Gobvu who took the ball forward to score. The final goal of the game was scored by Harvey with an assistance by Kristian Tyler-Creed.
Goal Scorers - Harvey Williams (3), Leroy Gobvu (1)

Today we were at home against Frinton who only had 10 players available. We only had 12 ourselves, but we thought we would have enougth srength in the side to see us through. In the first half we had the lions share or processon and scored two good goals through Nat Wares and Luke Watts. We also had another chance cleared off the line and quite a few other chances which with a little bit or composure we should have taken. At half time it was 2 - 0 to us.
In the second half we sat back and got caught out twice by Frinton to draw the game level. Frinton were working hard and winning every tackle that was going and we seemed not to be able to build any attacking moves or even wanted to build any. Connor Hynes scored what was to be the winner after a bit of pressure from us against Frinton. We must learn to pass the ball better and win these 50 50 chances. Which we didnt today.
Full credit to Frinton who battled for everything, other teams would have folded at half time but they never gave up and are a credit to the club and to Ken the manager. They were outstanding today.
Another brilliant performance again this week by all the boys who took an early lead just five minutes into the game when a cross from Harvey Williams was touched in by Sachin Gurung. Despite plenty of chances and shots at goal the ball just couldn't find it's way into the back of the net, many of the shots being denied by some excellent saves from the Cornard goalkeeper. Cornard scored an equalizer just a few minutes before the half time whistle.
Just two minutes into the second half and the ball was blasted into the back of the net from a terrific volley by Luke Hammond. The boys continued to dominate the game and their efforts were rewarded with five more goals scored in quick succession, the last goal being assisted by Mohammed Hammoud.
Special thanks to Robert Avery who willingly took up the position of goal-keeper in the absence of our regular keeper, Jack Curtis.
Goal Scorers - Sachin Gurung (2), Kristian Tyler-Creed (2), Luke Hammond (1), Leroy Gobvu (1), Harvey Williams (1)
Today we were at Gt Bradfords looking to win there to pay them back for the defeat we suffered against them at home. The game started in bad weather as the fog was quite thick, but the game was playable. We took the game to Bradfords and Ben Regan put us in the lead with a well taken goal. Although we did continue to press forward Bradfords levelled the score after a mix up in defence which the player put away. At half time is one 1 -1.
In the second half it took us a few minutes to settle but then we started to control the game, goals from Matt Carmen and Connor Hynes gave us a 3 -1 lead,. but Bradfords never gave up and clawed one back with 7 mins to go. We did have another couple of chances but good defending stopped them. Final score was 3 -2 win to us.
Well done to all the boys, it was a good performance on a very wet pitch in poor conditions. It was all about takng some of the chances we made today and the boys did exactly that. A good win against a good team.
Boadicea soaked up some early pressure from the Sudbury team who were 'high on confidence' from their 16 - 2 win the week before. However, the boys soon regained their rythmn and a free kick quickly taken by Liam Tawse resulted in Harvey Williams striking the ball into the back of the net. The boys continued the pressure and two more goals were scored in quick succession, one by Harvey and one by Luke Hammond.
Boadicea extended their lead just 3 minutes into the second half when a terrific shot by Luke went straight into the back of the net. Sudbury managed to close the gap slightly with a goal 15 minutes later. It looked like the game was going to end 4 - 1 but following a terrific run, Harvey managed to score again just 4 minutes before the final whistle.
Yet another great performance and team effort by all the boys who seem to get stronger and stronger week by week.
Goal Scorers - Harvey Williams (2), Leroy Gobvu (1), Luke Hammond (2)
Today we were at home against Halstead. Over the past few seasons, these have always been good games to watch and play in. From the start it looked like we just wasnt playing with any passion or belief. We did have a goal given offside and that seemed to be the cue for heads to go down throughout the team.
Halstead scored before half time and took that lead into the second half. It was the same again in the second half, we played some nice passing football, but hit the woodwork and just couldnt score. The boys upped their game, but we ended up getting caught again on the break twice to lose the game 0 - 3.
For some reason some of the boys are just not working hard enough when on the pitch. We drill into them the importance of team work and effort, even if they are not playing well, its about the team and doing your best for the team. What I dont want is individual players saying it was his fault or their fault. We are a team and yes we have played some good football and not got the run of the ball or 50 50 decisions, but that is football. You have to get on with it and dig deep. We have a lot of work to do on friday at training.
What can we say about this game!
Both teams were evenly matched in the first 35 minutes. This was reflected in the 2-2 score at the end of the first half - Boadicea's goals both being scored by Harvey Williams.
A penalty awarded to Feering Falcons just a few minutes into the second half was superbly saved by goalkeeper Jack Curtis denying them the chance to take the lead. The remainder of the game was dominated by Boadicea who extended their lead with four more goals (all by Harvey!)
Another great performance and team effort by all the boys.
Goal Scorer - Harvey Williams (6)
Today we were at Tempest in the league.
Like a lot of games this season this is another one where a poor decision by the referee has cost us a point. We played some good football today, and had two good chances in the first half to open the scoring but just couldnt make it count. At half time it was nil nil.
In the scord half we conceded and own goal, but come straight back at Tempest when Mat Carmen levelled the scores. We then had a 10 minutes blip when we conceded three goals, two were top class, but the other one was poor defending. A lot of teams would have folded, but we stuck to our guns and gave everything, Nat Wares scored our second after some great pressure from us in Tempest's half.
Then the poorest decison I have seen for a while, with Ben Regan through on the keeper he took the ball round him and was totally taken out by the keeper, not only a penalty but it should have been a red card for the goalkeeper. To our dismay and also to the Tempest players as well, the ref didnt give it. Even the Tempest players were telling him it was a penalty. A truly poor decision. After that we had another 2 good chances and it was all Boadicea with Tempest trying to hit us on the break. I do believe if we have scored the penalty then we would have got a draw out of this game, but that has been our season so far this year. Well done to all the boys on both teams.
Boadicea took an early lead again on Sunday with a goal from Sachin Gurung just 10 minutes into the game but Little Oakley Reds scored an equaliser just 10 minutes later. Despite excellent teamwork by Boadicea the score remained 1-1 at the end of the first half.
However, Boadicea started the second half as they meant to go on with a goal just 5 minutes in by Harvey Williams. This was shortly followed by a terrific shot by Kristian Tyler-Creed which hammered into the top corner. Little Oakley Reds then scored. A free kick awarded to Boadicea just outside the box was taken by Luke Hammond who struck the ball clean passed all the players and straight into the back of the net. Boadicea extended their lead with a goal by Sachin shortly followed by another goal by top-scorer Harvey.
The boys continued to defend well but a penalty awarded to Little Oakley Reds - for what no-one knows - meant they were able to score just once more.
Goal Scorers - Sachin Gurung (2), Harvey Williams (2), Kristian Tyler-Creed (1), Luke Hammond (1)
Today we were away at Notley in the league. Not much to say about this game, except that we scored all the goals. In the first half, we conceded a poor own goal when we had the chance to clear it but put it in our own net. Shane Goodyear levelled the scores for us, but another own goal in the second half last on cost us the match, again this was a goal which should have and could have been cleared.
To be honest this is a game in which we had enough chances and pocession in to win. We hit their woodwork 3 times with the keeper well and truly beaten, but it was not to be. The game was on a very small pitch which did give Notley the advantage, but saying that we created enough to win. This has really been the story of our season so far, we have played well, created chances but are not taking them..
Hopefully our luck will change soon.
Firstly, a big thank you to James Hughes, Luke Keeting and John Bonnachii, the U13's who helped to make up the team for Sunday's game as it shows great commitment to the Club.
Boadicea took an early lead with a goal from Harvey Williams just 10 minutes into the game. Despite more shots at goal and some terrific football the first half ended 1 - 0.
Just a few minutes into the second half Halstead Town Reds scored an equaliser. However, it wasn't long before Boadicea scored again when a terrific shot by Liam Tawse hit the post but thankfully just went over the line. Boadicea extended their lead when a free kick from the halfway line taken by Luke Hammond found Harvey Williams who cut inside but his shot hit a Halstead hand. Harvey converted the penalty.
The boys battled on and it looked like the game was theirs. Unfortunately, with only minutes to go beforebefore the final whistle, Halstead Town Reds scored and then just a minutes later they scored again when a penalty was awarded following one of their players being taken down just inside the box.
Goal Scorers - Harvey Williams (2), Liam Tawse(1)
Today we were at the league leaders Hurricanes. On a good pitch with an extremley good referee, we started the better and had a couple of half chances early on. We defended very well in two banks of four and dealt with everything that was thrown at as. We took the lead through Connor Hynes who pounced on a dropped ball by the keeper after a good shot by Jake Davies from the wing.
The rest of the half was much the same, we had another couple of chances to go ahead but Hurricanes defended well. In the second half, we took the game to them but after some good work and a few more half chances, paid the price when they levelled the score from a corner with 8 minutes to go. In the past this is where we would have folded, but we now play for 80 minutes plus and we will always make chances, we then upped the game again and Matt Carmen put us in front with a lovely chip over the keeper. Game on again, Hurricanes tried to push forward but we hit then on the break and with 2 minutes to go, Matt Carmen fired a screamer past the keeper to win us the game.
Well done to all the boys today they all played their part, special mention must go to Connor Serymour who was outstanding on the left wing today, his work rate was first class. Three points at the league leaders was no mean feat. A good solid win to follow on from last weeks win at Frinton. Well done the boys.
Again, another good start with Boadicea taking an early lead with a goal from Leroy Gobvu. However, 5 minutes later and Layer scored as the result of a penalty being awarded for a 'supposed' handball by defender Jason Wright. Boadicea needed to concentrate more as they were having plenty of shots at goal but none that were reaching the back of the net. The first half finished with Boadicea being 2-1 down as Layer scored five minutes before the whistle.
Just three minutes into the second half and a shot at goal by Leroy was rebounded out and then tapped into the back of the net by Harvey Williams. Layer then pulled ahead again with another goal. Undeterred by the score, as the boys are every game, they battled on and Boadicea soon took the lead with another two goals by Harvey. Despite some fantastic saves by goalkeeper Jack Curtis, Layer did manage to level the game to 4-4. A few more tense moments of play and just a few minutes before the final whistle, Boadicea scored as the result of a fantastic strike into the back of the net by Luke Hammond from near the half-way line.
Goal Scorers - Leroy Gobvu (1), Harvey Williams (3), Luke Hammond (1)
Today we were away at Frinton. Straight from the kick off we played good football and restricted Frinton to long range efforts, having a goal disallowed due to an injured player didnt help, but it was the right decision by the ref. We continued to pass the ball around and basically controlled the first half. Ben Regan scored for us and although we had a few more chances to score before half time, we didnt convert them.
After the break, Shane Goodyear put us two up and we were thinking game over, how wrong we was. Frinton stepped up there game, we backed off of ours and ended up with a 15 minute period of where both teams could have scored 3 or 4 goals each, only excellent keeping from both keepers, kept the score as it was, Frinton did pull one back in this period to make it 1 - 2.
Then the game swung back to us again and goals from James O'Hagen and Matt Carmen won us the game. I think this was a bit hard on Frinton as although I dont believe they did enough to win the game, then certainly deserved another goal. However Boadicea are now a team which plays for the full 80 minutes and will chase lost causes and put in a lot of hard work of the ball.
All in all a good result against a good team. Well done to all the boys
A special mention must go to the Referee, Jamie Ivory, who had an excellent game and kept controlled of the game throughout. A very good young referee.
Round 1 of the League Cup
The game started very positively, with a great strike by Luke Hammond within the first few minutes but the keeper managed to tip the ball over the crossbar.
Unfortuntely, Holland FC Reds then scored four goals within 15 minutes. However, the boys battled on and shortly before half time, Liam Tawse was taken down just outside the box resulting in a free kick. This was taken by Luke who smashed it passed the defending wall and into the botton left-hand corner of the net. The first half finished with Boadicea being 4-1 down.
The boys continued to give 100% effort in the second half. Their efforts paid off when Sachin Gurung had a great run and crossed the ball to a sea of yellow shirts but the final touch was from Mohammad Hammoud who had a shot at goal and scored. Holland, unfortunately, then scored two more goals.
Undeterred by the score, the boys battled on and a great goal by Nick Webster meant that the final score was 6-3 to Holland.
Goal Scorers - Luke Hammond (1), Mohammad Hammoud (1) Nick Webster (1)
Round 1 of the League Cup
Today we where in the League Cup against the leaders of the A dividson, Tempest. Straight from the start the boys put pressure on Tempest and worked very hard in the center on midfield and on the wings. Early pressure paid off when Matt Carmen fired home to put us 1 nil up. In the next 7-8 minutes we had another 2 good chances to extend the lead further but just cannot finish the chances off. Tempest levelled the scores 10 minutes before half time.
The second half was must the same as the first, it was played at a very fast pace and both teams knew it. Tempest has a few chances but the wood work and some great goalkeeping by Reece Harper kept them out. Tempest did score another 2 goals in the game and they took their chances well. Right at the end of the game we had two chances, and to be honest we should have scored to level the game, but it was not to be.
Well done to Tempest for the result but well done to all the Boadicea Players who in a depleted squad put in a great performance today.
Just 13 minutes into the first half and a goal by Harvey Williams meant that Boadicea took an early lead. However, about 10 minutes later Great Bradfords scored an equalizer. Both teams battled on despite the soaring heat. Kristian Tyler-Creed made a lovely chip to Luke Hammond who unfortunately got brought down inside the box and a penalty was awarded. This was taken by Luke who scored with a strike into the back of the net. The first half ended 2-1 to Boadicea.
The second half continued with great determination from both sides. Boadicea extended their lead when Sachin Gurung scored. Just a few minutes later Liam Tawse was taken down just inside the box and Boadicea were awarded a second penalty. This was taken by Harvey who also scored another goal shortly after, making it three goals for his hattrick.
A great team effort yet again by the boys.

First game of the season and what a way to start
Just fifteen minutes into the first half, Boadicea's first goal of the season was scored by new signing Harvey Williams following a great run past the Cornard defence. It was not long before the ball was put into the back of the net again by Luke Hammond who chipped the ball over the keeper. A second goal by Harvey meant that Boadicea were 3-0 up at the end of the first half.
The second half continued with great enthusiasm and team spirit. A fantastic shot from the edge of the box by Luke curled into the bottom corner. Two more goals were then scored by Harvey. The Cornard goalkeeper drop-kicked the ball down the pitch which was then headed by Bradley Ingram (Captain) to Leroy Gobvu who turned the defender but his shot was parried by the keeper and then Leroy followed up to score.
Five minutes before the final whistle Cornard chipped the ball over the keeper, Jack Curtis, and scored.
Goal Scorers - Harvey Williams (4), Luke Hammond (2), Leroy Gobvu
We were away today for the first game of the season and it looked like we were still away on holiday, slipping drinks and looking at the view.
Col Ath played to they're strengths and put in good long ball after long ball for Harry to chase and Sutton on the right hand side to follow up with good long range efforts. To be honest, they should have been at least 3 to 4 goals up by halft time.
In the second half after a couple of subs, we switched on and goals from Connor Hynes and Shane Goodyear got us back on level terms. We were playing good football, causing chance after chance and only very good saves, last minutes tackles and the wood work saved Col Ath. Well done to the boys for stepping up they're game, but they had too.
We must now learn to start quickly and put the effort in for the entire 80 minutes not just 40 minutes, otherwise we will end up being so far behind, we will not be able to catch up. Lets hope this was just the first game jitters as we all know we can play better than that.
